The past few weeks I have been posting more about editorial design, interfaces and some web design. I have been focusing my time on those subjects because it's part of my job but I never stop checking out illustrations and digital art projects for inspiration. A couple of weeks ago I stumbled upon the work of Yuri Shwedoff on our Daily Inspiration. It was the artwork with the X-wing fighter. I was amazed by the style and mood of the illustration so for this post I want to feature a little bit more about Yuri's work.
One of the things that really caught my attention about Yuri's work is the subject that he explores. It's an apocalyptical world of old spaceships and eclipses. It reminds me a bit of some scenes of the new Star Wars movie, mixed with a dark Mad Max. I love when I have this feeling when seeing illustrations, they really make my imagination fly.
