Side-projects. With all the blockers with we have in our lives, it's always hard to find some free time for your side-projects. Between your school, time with friends, typical 9-5 jobs, weekend jobs, family time, baby time...there's isn't time for anything. I would say as a creative to ALWAYS find time for your side-projects, either it is something completely stupid or incredibly useful. The act of making is here and you don't know where it will ever take you. I wanna feature this beautiful side-project that became into something more than just a hobby and let's take a look at Chipper Things by Becky Simpson.
Between the wood burns and today, Launch Day (April 19, 2016), I’ve spent a lot of time freelancing. During this time, I had been dreaming of opening up a more robust online store with my work. I was slowly chipping (see what I did there?) away at this when I wasn’t working on client work. Then, a little over a year ago, Adobe came out of nowhere. I started my Creative Residency, which afforded me the opportunity to work on Chipper Things full time, without the responsibility of those client obligations. Throughout the last year I had the chance to make art, explore, play, learn from artists, entrepreneurs and professional tinkerers who inspire me to keep playing and keep creating.

Meet Becky Simpson, the person behind Chipper Things; she's an illustrator, author and founder based in Austin, Texas Studied in Graphic Design, Becky started her career to doodle monsters on band shirts to becoming one of the first two Adobe Creative Residents.
