Android Prototyping for Designers - Shapes and Click Event

Prototyping has become a very important part of the UI/UX design process. With mobile applications taking over the web it is imperative for designers to find ways to test their designs on the devices. In the beginning most designers, including myself, relied on HTML, CSS and Javascript to emulate the native experiences that the users would see. It worked quite well and still does, however it's not a very reliable approach if you really want to understand the constraints and complexities that a developer may face when translating your designs into the final product. With that in mind, I decided to focus my efforts on the Android Platform and Java to be able to create truly native prototypes. In addition, I wanted to deliver more than redlines but reusable assets that could reduce the churn and bug fixes because of differences in the jargon used by designer tools compared to the developers.

A Movie Poster A Day

It’s been quite some time we last heard or seen any interesting 365 days project on Abduzeedo. We might think that designers and artists might go for a simpler route to do lettering, typography, motion or else. Some designers decided to go on another route, right to the core at making posters.

Movie Poster Series by Laura Racero

We’ve been encountering a several designers having their take in movie posters. I mean who doesn’t love movies? We are still waiting in line for movies and eating popcorn! We are still embracing the movie experience at its best. With the amount of content we can find online about our favourite movies, with that much content it’s always great what you can stir up with a redesign and a concept. Especially when you just watched the movie and you’re feeling inspired to create.

Moody London

As I am trying to be a better photographer, the more I realized how hard it is to go on a path of taking only Black & White pictures. I mean you’re disclosing yourself from so many colours and maybe it is easy to give it a try. But to me, it’s quite a challenge!

Luis Branco is a product and furniture designer from Viana do Castelo, Portugal. While checking Behance for some inspiration I ended up in his profile page and was amazed by his work, especially the consoles, sideboard and cabinets that share a beautiful and modern look. The Corbusier and Oslo are classic examples of this iconic modernist style. As a fan of product and industrial design, I had to share some of his work. I also started sketching some ideas for my sideboard project. Nothing more exciting than building a piece of furniture.

Beautiful Motion Design for Auto UI

Gleb Kuznetsov shared some quite beautiful motion design projects for Automotive UI. on his Dribbble page. They seem to be for the new Fantasy Auto Lab project done by the amazing people over at Fantasy, a Human-centered UI & UX studio based in New York and Silicon Valley. One of the reasons I thought it would be cool to share this projects is because it has a Tron look, quite different from what we have been seeing since flat design, if that is even a style, became popular. There's much more to love than just the style. The animations and details are top notch and make me want to see the full project.

The UI/UX Work of Claudio Guglieri

While browsing on Dribbble, I discovered the work of Claudio Guglieri and I was just so impressed by his work related to brands, experiences and UI/UX. He has worked hands-on for brands like Adobe, CNN, Reuters, Kayak, Google and just to name a few. Claudio is the design director at Microsoft Groove and Movies & TV and he’s currently based in Redmond, Seattle.

Halloween Logotypes

That’s why I love this initiative from Logobaker to assemble designers/artists all over Europe to create a series of logotypes on the theme of Halloween. Spooky, cheesy, predictable, we can’t help to enjoy the different types of style that would apply to these logo designs. We took the liberty to feature all of them instead of a few, hope you will enjoy!
